Restoration and Alterations III: The Foyer and Dining Room

The first room you see when you come into the Beardsley-Cartwright House is the foyer. Stripping and refinishing the balustrade, stairs, interior doors and woodwork of the foyer was a challenging project. The paint had to be laboriously picked from the hand carvings by wire brush and small tools. But the end product was worth it.

Because it was in such bad shape, the dining room floor was one of first projects to be addressed.
